Safety Signs Philippines
Exit Signs, luminous,
Photoluminescent signs do not require electricity at the site of installation to perform their intended purpose as opposed to internally illuminated electrical signs. No conduit or wiring is required in order for the sign to charge, therefore, offering a substantial cost savings in both materials and labor. So how does it work? A photoluminescent sign absorbs photons from the available ambient light, and then emits non toxic, non radioactive light as a perceivable afterglow to the human eye in a darkened environment such as can occur in black-outs or fires. A photoluminescent exit sign must achieve a 90 minute afterglow and achieve compliance requirements in order to be compliant with the required IBC code and the UL 924 standard. Approved photoluminescent signs do not require a backup system since they emit sufficient light for way finding once charged, and thus do not require the cost of maintaining test and maintenance logs. The signs only require 5 ft candle (54 Lux) of light to shine on them at all times that the building is occupied. "Photoluminescent exit signs have an unlimited service life and consume no energy.
