A car equipped with immobilizer system has a CHIP / IC embedded inside the ignition KEY. Upon turning the ignition switch to on, this chip transmits an encrypted string of data in which the car Immo Box reads. Once data is received and verified, the Immo Box then wakes up the ECU in order to start the engine.
Multiple attempt to start an engine without this data will lock the ECU into anti theft mode and will never start the engine until it is reset by a special electronic tool and keys re-programmed.
Newly purchased keys from the dealers even if it bears the correct serial number or code must also be programmed into the car before it can be used.
Immobilizer Resetting and Programming is very COSTLY.
