Negros Island Rainforest Organic Coffee is
organically grown without the use of Chemicals and Pesticides. Farmers
help in building healthy soils and preserves biodiversity in the rain
forest. The Organic Coffee is made from Selectively
handpicked ripe red coffee cherries by the rural forest dwellers in
Negros Island, Philippines. Exceptionally great tasting as the coffee
beans mature more slowly in the shade natural sugars increase and
enhance the flavor of the coffee.
The organic coffee is a by-product of organic
farming, practices promotion of shade grown coffee trees
resulting in the increase of forest covers at the same time protecting
the water shed areas that provide clean water source to Negros Island. Shade
grown coffee trees planted in various mountain communities close
to the remaining forest areas in Negros Island. It is nurtured by the
forest communities of Sag-ang in La Castellana, and Yubo in La Carlota
in Negros Occidental following NISARDS’s protocol for Internal Quality
Control on Organic Coffee production. The Mt. Kanlaon Premium Blend is
considered one of the organic products certified by NICERT.
