  Carreon's Sweets and Pastries, better known as Magalang Espesyal, was established by Lourdes Sanchez Carreon. Having been raised in a family with a great love and passion for cooking, it is inevitable that she learned how to make sweets and pastries. She initially made sweets and other goodies as a hobby. She served what she made as merienda to guests or gifts to friends and family. In 1946, after the Second World War, what used to be just a leisurely activity became a money making venture. Life after the war was so difficult that she thought of turning what she does best into a business. She cooked her goodies such as pastillas de leche, caramel and yema in the small kitchen of their bahay-kubo. Since she does not yet have her own store then, she would go from house to house within Magalang and nearby towns just to sell her products. Her products were instant hits with the people that orders started pouring in. Eventually she was able to put up her own store and her clientele steadily grew throughout the years. Today, the management of the business is now in the hands of Mrs. Carreon's grandson, Francis Joseph R. Carreon. Currently, Carreon's Sweets and Pastries produces and sells several products. These are Pastillas de Leche, Caramel, Masapan de Pili, Empanaditas, Yemas, Pili Roll, Sanzrival, Ensaymada, Plantanilla, Sylvanna, Polvoron, Food for the Gods and Chocolate Chip Cookies. The bestseller among the products is pastillas de leche which is made from 100% pure carabao's milk. It's current clientele consists mainly of walk in customers such as balik-bayans or bakasyonistas coming from the north. From time to time, the company participates in trade fairs and bazaars within Pampanga and in Metro Manila. Such events have made the company more visible and the prospects of doing business with institutional buyers have emerged.
